“The BV Intensive solidified my understanding that Jesus knows me specifically, and that my identity is not who I think I am but who He says I am. That revelation opened up my thoughts about going out and spreading the Gospel more effectively, knowing who calls me.”

“The Black Voices Track ignited the fire God placed in me for revival! What began as a “simple yes” at CR Experience, became a lifelong call. I’m now stepping into full-time missions in South Africa to see the gospel transform nations.”

“It’s week two of CRX and the gospel is hitting me. God has been peeling calluses off my heart making it very clear that I’ll never want to return to the way that I’ve been thinking and living.”

“In just one night, Black Voices changed my whole perspective on what missionaries looked like. What I thought would be a simple worship service brought me face to face with the fact that the Gospel really is for people who look like me.”

Q. What is Black Voices?
Black Voices is a missional arm of Circuit Riders / Youth with a Mission that focuses on reaching and empowering young Black men and women with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our staff team are all self-funded missionaries that work with Circuit Riders, but the movement and network includes thousands of young people across America and other nations. We work with over 50 college campuses including 30 HBCU’s, and host missional outreaches across the world, with a focus in East Africa.
Our vision is to activate young Black leaders in the missional calling of Jesus Christ–to share the gospel and lead others to Christ through their lives. We accomplish this through several avenues: the Black Voices evangelistic tour to colleges, Black Voices Music, our social media, and year round leadership trainings. Our goal is that any young person that engages with Black Voices will find a revived passion to live fully for Jesus and practical skillsets to lead a missional life.
Q. Why does a movement like Black Voices exist?
Revelation 7:9 states that “every nation, tribe, people, and language” will together stand before the throne of Jesus. This is the end goal of every believers’ Great Commission! And in order to reach every people group, we as the Church must also empower every people group as carriers of the gospel message. Young Black leaders are underrepresented when it comes to Christian missions. When you look specifically at the missions movement in America, less than 1% of those who are in missions are Black. This is just one indicator of the missional engagement of Black Gen Z. As we empower this generation to preach and share the gospel, we will see more of the generation come to faith in Christ.
Black Voices is not a local church that seeks to be predominantly Black, it is a missions organization reaching and equipping young Black leaders to in turn reach their generation. Similar to why a church may host a separate women’s or men’s ministry, Black Voices is an opportunity to uniquely gather, minister to, and empower young Black individuals in the Great Commission to reach all the earth with the gospel.
Q. What is the vision of Black Voices Movement?
Black Voices Movement aims to train young Black leaders to bring solutions through discipleship, evangelism, and acts of mercy in their communities and globally. We unite leaders to take meaningful, collective gospel action.
Q. What is the purpose of a Black Voices gathering?
The purpose is to inspire, equip, and mobilize leaders to walk confidently in their faith and calling. It’s a time for connection, storytelling, encouragement, and being challenged to live out your faith with action.
Q. Can I Join Black Voices Movement?
Q. What denomination are you?
Q. Is there a financial cost?
Our Black Voices Spring tour events are free of cost.
Our National Conference, leadership training tracks, and intensives do have a registration fee, to cover the costs associated with putting on the event.
Q. Can I be involved if I am not ethnically Black?
The focus of Black Voices is to reach, train, and empower young Black leaders. While this is our main focus, Black Voices also intentionally makes space to serve and collaborate with the larger body of Christ! Because of this, we have three different tiers of types of events that we provide.
One tier would be our events where we collaborate with church communities. Everyone is absolutely welcome to join in these events, as they are an expression of coming together across the church!
The second tier would be our Black Voices Rallies and Tour events. Similarly, all are welcome to these events, though there will be much more of a focus here in the communication and ministry to speak to the Black population.
Our third tier would be our training tracks, such as our Black Voices Tracks within Circuit Riders’ training schools and our Black Voices Intensive. Since these environments are the most distinctly shaped to speak to and minister to a shared experience of the Black population, this is primary space where we ask that attendees are ethnically Black, out of respect for the purpose of this space.
Q. How can I be involved with Black Voices if I am not ethnically Black?
Share the opportunity of Black Voices with others you know: whether our music, our events, or our leadership training, we welcome you to spread the word!
Fuel the mission financially: You can donate on the link above. Black Voices & Circuit Riders are movements of missionaries. Everything that we do is fueled by the generosity of others who value the vision of the mission!
Q. How does Black Voices engage in issues of social justice?
As a branch of Youth with a Mission and Circuit Riders, while we deeply value the topic of justice, our primary focus is in foundational discipleship, evangelism and missions mobilization. Our events and trainings are focused on young leaders finding their calling in Christ, and gaining practical skillsets to share the gospel through their lives. Black Voices provides teaching on the Biblical theology of justice within our leadership training tracks. While mobilizing acts of justice is not a primary element of Black Voices, we are in friendship with the Christian organization, Civil Righteousness. Civil Righteousness is a great community to be a part of if you seek to gain deeper involvement in issues of social justice.
